Established in 2015 by Plan Muskoka’s Principal, Savas Varadas, Plan Muskoka has seen steady growth every year since. Plan Muskoka is known for providing area-leading professional services to its clients at competitive pricing. Based in Huntsville within Ontario’s cottage-country of Muskoka, Plan Muskoka can provide expert Planning services to a large area of Ontario. Savas Varadas, MCIP, RPP
Savas Varadas was raised in Pickering, ON before leaving to attend the University of Waterloo’s Urban and Regional Planning program. He graduated in 2003 with a Degree in Environmental Studies – Honours Planning with a minor in Geography. Savas found himself moving to Muskoka after gaining employment at a local Planning consulting firm in Huntsville, ON in April 2004 and shortly after became a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planning Institute, becoming a Registered Professional Planner.
Working in all areas of Planning, Savas assisted clients with Planning Act approvals such as Zoning Amendments, Minor Variances, Subdivision and Consent applications and became very familiar with waterfront residential development in Muskoka. He also utilises his design skills in AutoCAD to prepare plans and designs of all forms for a wide range of development projects during his work in the field of land use Planning. Savas has appeared at the Ontario Land Tribunal (previously Ontario Municipal Board “OMB” and Local Planning Appeal Tribunal “LPAT”) on several occasions, being qualified to provide evidence as an expert in the field of Land Use Planning.
After over 11 years of employment in the private sector, Savas left his position of Senior Planner and formed Plan Muskoka in 2015 to embark on the next chapter of his career. Since then, Plan Muskoka has seen great success and has steadily grown every year under his leadership.
Jasmine Last was raised in Muskoka, leaving to attend McMaster University and live in Toronto for several years, but eventually finding her way back to Muskoka and settling in Port Sydney, Huntsville. Her initial experience with planning began at the Town of Huntsville, where she began as an administrative assistant and ultimately worked as a planner, reviewing Minor Variance, Consent and Site Plan applications. During this time, she also served as the Secretary-Treasurer for the Committee of Adjustment and Planning Committee, gaining firsthand knowledge of development approvals by attending dozens of planning meetings each year and working with landowners, developers, public agencies, and other stakeholders throughout the entire planning process.
After almost 6 years of employment in municipal planning, Jasmine joined Plan Muskoka in 2021 as a Planning Technician, assisting on a wide range of projects for clients throughout Muskoka and the surrounding areas, including Zoning By-law Amendments, Subdivision and Consent applications. Her knowledge of local planning policy and love of research helps find creative solutions to achieve planning approvals.
